Swimming Pool n Spa Heat Pumps.
In the last couple of years the Popularity of Heat Pumps has exploded. They have gotten a whole lot cheaper and also much better Quality. Now they can heat a Pool or Spa 20-22 times more efficiently than an electric Element style heater. This makes Heat pumps great for Spas and Swim Spas and also relevant for heating your swimming pool much more efficiently than before, when you pair with Roof top solar generating your own electricity, the costs drop dramatically again.

In 2026/2027 Season the range has just exploded, so much marketing, so many options. So many new brands, which also leaves a lot of ‘old’ inefficient heaters out there being sold as well.
It has become hard for us to keep up and we are learning about these new changes every week. We are NOT bound to a Brand so we can truly tailor a solution to your pool or spa that will do the job well.
Particularly on SPAS We have had several customers tell us that the purchase price and installation were quickly offset by the savings on their electricity bill, compared to their Element heater. Especially if they are paying peak rates on their electricity.
Less money on heating is good. Less electricity being consumed is good. Green is good.
Not all heat Pumps are Created equal
In his years as a swimming pool & spa Service Technician Mark quickly discovered that he was replacing heat pumps that were only a few years old. That is how he has come to choose EVO heat as the main heat pump we are promoting and Selling. Inferior and cheap units have of course become available but they are not made as well and are not standing the test of time. When a company puts a 25yr Warranty on something 30yrs on the New More efficient APEX (Heat Exchanger) that says something to me.
In Australia the discussion on Solar Heating or Heat Pumps is interesting as we have so much sun. But especially in Melbourne or anything south, solar only heats your pool when it wants too. With a Heat Pump the pool is warm when you want. So if you have a mid August birthday party you can heat your pool then.
The running costs
Heat Pumps run at the same running cost as a big air conditioner. When you have photovoltaic solar generating electricity on your roof these costs are greatly offset. The unit can be set to run at off peak or free times or when the Solar is generating peak electricity.
The Fusion Model is the base model but a great unit and has a titanium Heat exchanger with a 25 year warranty.
The Force Model is their High Efficiency model it also has the 25 year warranty on the titanium heat exchanger and a 5 year Warranty on the Compressor,
The APEX is the Latest model with even More efficiency and better WiFi connection and even Longer Warranty. Heat pumps run on the theory of running them for a long time to slowly heat a pool. They are not quick heaters like gas Heaters.
On Spas 9kw Units will run from a 10amp outlet.
12kw Units will run from a 15amp outlet.
Anything bigger than a 12kw unit needs to be connected by an electrician.
